The Bioinformatic "Pizza" seminar

In light of the growing interest and to keep the inertia (and success) of the Israel Bioinf Symposium in UH in Spring 2016,  we have initiated a new activity in order to promote "Bioinformatic communication and brainstorming" between relevant labs in the faculty of natural sciences (and even beyond).

It is called Bioinformatic Journal Club and is about 4 meetings per semester, one hour talk by some PI describing a typical work/project from her/his lab.

The forum should focus on methods, approaches, modelling (not necessarily "algorithms") rather than the biological specifics of each lab, as this is the common ground to all participants of the forum (neuro, marine, EEB, stat, math). The presentations will not be too technical so it is accessible to all participants.

The way to follow most Bioinformatics activity undergoing in campus is by joining  the Bioinfo Forum, so if you are not subscribed yet but wish to, please visit http://list.haifa.ac.il/listinfo/haifa-bioinfo.

Directions:

The seminar takes place in the seminar room at lab complex b (מיתחם מדעים ב׳) that is located in bldg 11 (terrace bldg). The entrance is from the road between blg 11 and 12 (multipurpose bldg) right opposite to bldg 12, wide glass door. (Haifa University Map)
